Supercharge Your String Trimmer with an Aero-Flex® Universal Kit
(HIT) - Gas-powered string trimmers have become ubiquitous landscape maintenance tools. But string trimmers are not without their problems and frustrations. Sometimes the line doesn’t feed properly. Sometimes the string just isn’t tough enough to cut heavy weeds. Untangling the line and reloading a new spool of line can become a frustrating, time-consuming chore.
Now there’s a new kit that promises to supercharge gas-powered string trimmers—turning them into lean, clean, cutting machines. The Aero-Flex Universal Kit replaces a standard trimmer’s monofilament line with a unique four-line blade cutting system. The line blades, which are made of high-strength copolymers, can last up to 50 times longer than traditional nylon monofilament line that dries out and becomes brittle (causing breakage). The aerodynamically engineered, teardrop profile cutters are tough and durable enough to slice through grass, heavy weeds and vines that string lines can’t even begin to cut.
Unlike traditional monofilament string, the bright yellow and bright orange line blades (two alternating blades of each color), are easily visible, providing added control along the cutting path to avoid hitting objects—especially plants!—that you don’t want to harm.
American inventor Vince Morabit spent more than 15 years perfecting the patented Aero-Flex Line Blades, which have a flexible “living hinge” that enables them to absorb large impact force without breaking when a cutter inadvertently strikes pavement or other hard surfaces.
The Aero-Flex Universal Kit-- which includes the cutting head with two sets of four heavy-duty line blades (a total of eight line blades), instructions and all needed hardware-- sells for $29.97 at all Lowe’s stores.
