Armstrong Residential Ceilings Continue To Explore The "Fifth Wall"
(HIT) - As the leader in residential ceiling design, Armstrong Building Products is committed to helping consumers, designers and the industry explore design possibilities for the "fifth wall." In 2006, this commitment continues with the introduction of three new ceiling products, and continued involvement in the Michelangelo Design Councilan industry resource comprised of four highly reputable interior designers and one master ceiling installer.
"Armstrong provides ceiling products that are easy to install and offer high-end design at attainable prices," says Bill Vaughn, Residential Marketing Manager for Armstrongs Ceiling Division. "Homeowners, remodelers and builders should realize that their choices in ceiling décor arent just limited to white painted drywall. Treating the ceiling as a design element can transform an entire room," adds Scott A. Stultz, NKBA, of Scott A. Stultz & Associates in Marietta, Pa. and member of the Michelangelo Design Council.
Armstrongs traditional, yet customizable new ceiling products can be installed in residential kitchens and baths to reflect a variety of styles.
Infusions® Accent Canopies
Currently a commercial product, Infusions accent canopies are being explored and tested for residential applications. Infusions accent canopies define or add interest to a space and are available in both 5' x 2' and 6' x 2' sizes. They attach to the ceiling with a simple cable system and can stand alone or in clusters at 60- or 90-degree angles to create different configurations. Infusions is expected to launch in the Fall of 2006 through independent dealers and by special order. Pricing has not yet been determined.

Single Raised Panels
These square-edge panels measure 24" x 24" x 5/8" and add a seamless, unified decorative element to a suspended ceiling. Made of mineral fiberboard, the single panels are an ideal way to lower the level of a ceiling while accentuating the architectural design detail of a home.

TinLook Circles and Raised Panel Patterns
Armstrong also released two new TinLook patterns, Circles and Raised Panel, bringing the line to eight distinct patterns that replicate the look of stamped-metal ceilings. Homeowners can either install the 12" x 12" tiles in their original state, paint or faux finish to replicate the look of real tin, bronze or silver.
The new Tinlook patterns can be installed directly to drywall ceilings using adhesive or by staples affixed to wood furring strips. Price is approximately $2 per square foot.
