Decorative Light Strips Add Style and Atmosphere
(HIT) - Decorative lighting is often overlooked as an easy and inexpensive way to add a unique style and atmosphere to a home. Strategically placed accent lights, under cabinet lighting, inside cabinets lights and decorative lighting strips are all easy home improvements that can be used to complement your homes décor.
Decorative lighting strips provide unique depth and texture to wood cabinets and shelving, while also serving as task lighting in these often dark areas. Decorative lighting strips are available from do-it-yourself project retailers like Rockler Woodworking and Hardware, and typically come in 10" or 20" strips. Brass, black and white finishes are available.
Decorative lighting strips are mounted with self-adhesive pads, and often include a rotating mechanism that allows you to aim the light for a desired effect. Cords can be usually be concealed behind the lip of the shelf or cabinet opening for a neat, finished appearance. Better models also include a removable plug cover, allowing you to slip the cord through small openings in the back of a shelf or cabinet.
