Composite Slate Roofing From CertainTeed Takes on New Dimension with Additional Sizes, Color
(HIT) Homeowners looking for the timeless, classic beauty of slate are increasingly turning to composite materials, such as Symphony Composite Slate Series from CertainTeed for its affordability, durability and architectural appeal. With the addition of a new color, new sizes, accessories and installation options to the Symphony product line, homeowners can now further enhance the architecture or historic detail of their homes.
CertainTeed introduces Evergreen to the Symphony color palette, featuring a mixture of two green-shaded shingles that present the heritage of Vermont quarry in textures and contours of natural slate. Along with Symphonys existing colors, Colonial Gray and Capital Blend, the shingles are available in standard 12-inch pre-blended bundles or multi-width bundles of 6-, 9- and 12-inch slates that can be used to create a random pattern and multi-dimensional look. For a finishing touch, Symphony also now includes a hip and ridge accessory.
"Symphony orchestrates the ideal cross between art and science in a composite slate shingle," says Bob Gardiner, vice president of marketing for CertainTeed Roofing. "Our expansion to three earth color palettes and new shingle bundle widths gives homeowners additional options and a wider selection when deciding on low maintenance roofing materials, either for new construction or re-roofing projects. Since a roof makes up 40 percent of a homes exterior, choosing the right color and shingle size can make a difference in the beauty and curb appeal of a roof."
At a fraction of the cost, Symphony mimics the look and feel of natural slate, but is low-maintenance, more durable and fade resistant. Symphony has excellent weathering qualities and, unlike natural slate, can withstand cold temperatures without curling, buckling or cracking.
"Because a new roof can dramatically affect a home's appearance and resale value, it's also important to consider form and function when selecting a replacement roofing material," added Gardiner. "Symphony is a great choice for homeowners looking for exceptional curb appeal with long-lasting durability."
Symphony shingles are backed by CertainTeeds legacy of quality and innovation, as well as a 50-year limited, transferable warranty.
